Robert Goldman is a landscape painter known for his bold use of color and light. He has been a professional artist for 50 years. He resided in San Diego, CA for 20 years before he and his wife Barbara moved to Tucson Arizona, and in 2013 they moved to Prescott Arizona so he could be closer to the areas he likes to paint.
Robert attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and has studied with numerous artists including Ray Vinella, John Asaro, Wolf Kahn, Wayne Thiebaud, Matt Smith, Phil Starke, Ray Roberts, Bill Anton, and Ned Jacob.

Robert has received numerous awards, including a 2000 award from Wayne Thiebaud at the Lana International Watermedia Competition, Best of Show at the Grand Canyon Celebration of Art 2019, juried by Jean Stern, second place in the Fall 2019 Oil Painters of America Online Showcase, First Place in the OPA Fall Showcase 2021, and has had four concurrent successful one man shows at the Maynard Dixon Legacy Museum / Thunderbird Foundation in Mt. Carmel, Utah.

In 2021, Robert was awarded Signature Membership in the Plein Air Painters of America organization, the California Art Club Gold Medal Show, and he was included in a show at the Booth Museum in Georgia, Oct 2022, plus he had five paintings included in the Phippen Museum show titled “High Desert Masters.” His work was included in the Phippen Museum Miniature Masterpiece Art Show and Sale 2022. Robert’s work was included in the Bonita Art Museum show “Art of the West – the collections of Mehl Lawson and Mark Fehlman. His work was in the San Diego Museum of Fine Art – (California – Hawaii Regional) in 1974. Also a painting was in the St. George Art Museum – Arts for the Parks.
