Description
Cathedral Silhouette
Cathedral rock is an iconic landmark on the Sedona, Arizona Skyline and is one of the most photographed sites in Arizona. Geologically, it is carved from the Permian Schnebly Hill Formation, a red bed sandstone formed from coastal sand dunes near the shoreline of ancient Pedregosa Sea. Cathedral Rock can be photographed from various vantage points in Sedona. Even in silhouette, it is universally recognized and the magnificent sunset is an added bonus.
