"None of us perceive the world in exactly the same way. Our oneness lies in a yearning to touch and to understand. My work is an endeavor to share my thoughts and vision through form and color and relationships, hoping to charge my images with meaning which will reach across the spaces between us."

Over the years I’ve learned to appreciate excellence although I rarely achieve it. The closest I come is in the ephemeral areas of concept and integrity. But, since I believe that my next effort will be my best, I will continue to pursue excellence.

Description

According to ancient tradition, Christianity was introduced within present day Egypt by Saint Mark in Alexandria, shortly after the ascension of Christ and during the reign of Roman Emperor Claudius around 42 AD. The conciderable Christian community in Alexandria is the oldest in Africa.

There are a variety of crosses used by the Coptic Christians. Old Coptic crosses incorporate a circle which may vary in size depending on the representation. For the Coptic Church, the circle represents the eternal and everlasting love of God, as shown through Christ’s crucifixion, Christ’s halo and resurrection.
