I have always been fascinated with the ways in which cultures and peoples around the globe decorate and adorn themselves. There is that beauty that is captured and displayed in such a different manner that it can fill us with wonder at the creativity that abounds in our world. Through my paintings, I seek to engage with the identities, myths and symbols of our predecessors and their cultures. It allows us to celebrate and interpret the art of indigenous peoples and artists from the past. My paintings also show us that sometimes people themselves can be transformed into art. It reminds us of the beauty that resides in difference.
