Description
Lilac Breasted Roller
The Lilac Breasted Roller is the official national bird of Kenya. Both sexes are alike in magnificent color. They are usually found alone or in pairs perched in high places, like the tops of trees, to have a vantage point to spot insects, lizards, and other small prey. During the breeding season the male will rise to great heights, descending in swoops and dives, while uttering harsh, discordant cries. “Roller” refers to these acrobatic movements. Dye-Infused Metal prints represent a new art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into specially coated metal sheets. They are vibrant and have a luminous back-lit quality that paper prints cannot achieve. Because the image is infused into the surface and not on it, the archival qualities of this unique process are unparalleled. The coating is largely scratch proof, and shows less glare than prints framed under glass. The addition of a Floating Frame is a further enhancement to this modern look.
