Description
In 1531 a “Lady from Heaven” appeared to a humble Native American at Tepeyac, a hill northwest of what is now Mexico City. She identified herself as the ever virgin Holy Mary, Mother of God. She requested that a church be bulit on the site where she appeared.
This church was indeed built and Our Lady has ever after been loved and revered throughout the world.
The Feast of Our Lady Guadalupe is celebrated on December 12.
“A great sign appeared in the heaven; a woman clothed with sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars”
