Description
Reaching for the Stars
This image shows The Milky Way stretching over Cathedral Rock. It was taken just north of the Baldwin Trail. The image is a composite of one taken at sunset and one taken several hours later when the Milky Way was in a perfect position to frame Cathedral Rock. The image shows all four peaks of Cathedral Rock It is possible to hike to two of the saddles shown by scrambling up Cathedral’s east side. It is not possible to summit without rock climbing. Cathedral Rock is one of four main vortexes in Sedona. The Vortex is strongest where Oak Creek is closest to Cathedral, north of where this image was taken. The New age movement believes this vortex contains feminine energy.
